A very Happy Birthday to Veronica,
I'm glad she got to 42 first
she can tell me what it's like for a few more months...
were celebrating her day today !!!then my poor Ted who is in ICU in Portland it was touch and go but with all the love and prayers he has been receiving we pray he will be able to go home soon. He has been in the hospital for 2 months now, those poor nurses as he is quite a flirt!!
then the Miracle,
some Dear friends yesterday
rocked our world with an accident....

 God is good!!!
He had his Angels
watching over them because
they just missed a
huge drop off
and they were able to walk away.

Best Jam Cake Ever.....

When I first saw this cake in the Taste of the South Magazine
It looked so good I had to try it.

But if your Like me I just always get rid of the
ingredients that I don't think belong
like the raisins and the pecans..

It was a total mess to make
 and as you can see
it needs to go into 4 cake pans next time.

It was so delicious...

One cake would easily feed 20 guests
Its about 10" tall when frosted,

cake recipe

1 1/2cups soft butter
3 cups sugar
5 lg eggs
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp b.soda
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups blackberry jam
1 1/2 cups shredded coconut
1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
1 cup raisins

beat sugar and butter till light and fluffy
then eggs one at a time
then flour and soda alternating with the sour cream.
then fold in the rest.
I used freezer jam I like it best.

bake 350 about 40minutes
till a tooth pick comes clean.

filling
is 1- 8ounce cream cheese
beat with 1/2 cup blackberry jam.
Layer this in between the cake layers
with 2 cups of fresh blackberry
this filling next time I will double it!

Butter cream frosting
2 cups softened Butter
 8 cups powdered sugar
8T heavy whipping cream

frost  and refrigerate
enjoy

My Sisters place...

These are some photos from my sister house in Anchorage.

the mid century pictures she thrifted and I just love them...
and the French oil of the hen how cute is that!!

then there is my poor George who got shaved at the groomers and
while stuck in traffic on Monday I did my own trimming
on his poor ears when will I learn
somethings should be left to the professionals!!
on the polka dot blanket that is Georges brother Coconut.
George will stay with my sister Christi and his brother for the rest of summer
as there are way to many Eagles on the beach.

In exchange I took my niece home with me
for as long as she can handle being away from her Mom.
Mimi runs her ragged which gives me Peace to get my work done..

I found so many wonderful things for the shop and me!!!

and then there is
Vicki

my personal shopper who's out traveling!!!!!
I will post those treasures soon too.

until tomorrow.

A thrifted house fit for a mouse!

How cute is this I loved it the minute I saw it...
of course it was an ugly natural
and it has a full set of furniture to go with it.
BUT
they have to be put together as they are part of a kit.

Super fun for a little girl or a 41yr old to play
with like me!

I hope you have a great weekend
Phil went across to the remote lodge to open it up
with my Dad and brother.
they are coming back tomorrow
just in time to go to dinner at Acapulco
and see Veronica and celebrate Fathers Day.

My Mom has Mimi for the day.
 she went with
Phil earlier this morning .
she had packed her bag the night before
determined she was going with them to see the fox!

so this spells out I'm with my boys and it's peaceful
they really leave you alone as they get older.

Happy Fathers Day
and have a great weekend!
