Today I had a car pull in and a man got out carryingsome items.
So Phil went out to talk to him and then he came and got
me to talk to him.......and then I recognized him.
I said where has your wife been.
I was not ready to hear that she had taken her own life.
He said I know she had really cared about you
and I wanted to bring you a few of her things
that I know she would have wanted you to have!
the iron he said had been her Grandmothers
these items just became priceless!
It is hard to know what to say in a situation like that, kind of bitter sweet. It is nice that she thought so much of you...It is just very sad that she couldn't find something to hang on for.
ReplyDeleteOh no. That's extremely tragic. Of course they are priceless. What a sad, sad Christmas her family must have had. I can't even imagine.

ReplyDeletei think one way or another you are going to have to hang on to that shop of yours. it seems to me it's a place people need, you know? i'm sure the man was glad he could drop off a few precious things in the arms of someone who knew his wife as well ...

I auto replied I have just read your post! Soo sad, how tragic...You obviously were a special person to this lady...lovely that her husband could do something tangible.
you obviously have the human touch 'h'. there is always someone worse off eh and yet this is not really a very comforting thought...
