In Bloom

I found these little vintage match covers and fell in love with them
and for a $1 how could you go wrong!

I'm not quite sure what to do with them but I'm sure when craft day
resumes again this fall we can figure some fantastic
use for them!!
Moose and Bird would be proud Melinda always thrifts these amazing
fabrics and I found this vintage pillow sham in a free pile.
(of course I was suppose to be picking up clients at the time
but who can pass up a sale on the way)

Yesterday in the shop I was so busy
at one time I must have had 20 or more shoppers!

I have been thinking so fondly for a friend that
had lost her husband this past week.

I had been thinking what I could do for her and her family.
Her husband was the same age as Phil and I
and she has children also.
It just really hit us hard such a nice family
and I had just seen her the week before.
Yesterday
There she was right before me in the shop
and I was at such a loss for words.
Those who know me know I'm never at a loss
I'm a chatter box.

Say a prayer for her, and think a kind thought
she is such a strong beautiful woman
and it was so nice to see all of the support around her.

It makes you think how fragile life is
and how quick it can be taken.

I'm so thankful!

  2. I'm so sorry, Heidi. That's always a hard thing. I love the matchbook covers, they're so pretty, maybe you could put them in a frame, rows and rows of them....that's the first thing that crossed my mind. Blessings to you, Diane

  4. Dear Heidi, thank you so much for stopping by today with kind words for me. It really does help. I think Tilly packing up on me was really the last straw. I just feel like finally I give up. I can't fight anymore. And then I read about your poor friend and I'm so grateful that my loved ones are safe. So I think...tomorrow's another day. I can carry on tomorrow. Much love, Heidi. 6. First let me say how sorry I am for the loss of your Friend's Husband... a dear Friend of ours recently lost hers too and there are never the words to say to provide as much comfort as just 'being there', I'm glad your Friend had a network of support to surround her during this most difficult time.

Thanks for stopping by my Blog and leaving such a sweet comment. What a lovely Blog you have and I'm lusting over the beautiful enamelware you will have in your shop!!! My DH 'The Man'... is presently in Alaska doing some seasonal work and visiting Family... humnnnnnnnnn, wonder how far from Healy you are? *wink* It's never as fun not shopping and hunting for your own Treasures though is it? Your retirement plan seems similar to mine... I'm thinking along the lines of a vintage Airstream or Gypsy Vardo and allowing the wanderlust to be satisfied as well as hitting all the best Treasure Hunting sites and shows a across the Country and doing my Art...BLISS!!! Well... someday... *le sigh*
