Tuesday through-a Winter Window

I'm still stuck in Anchorage almost a week now.....
Yesterday we called and went to the dealership
and told the mechanic that our host wants us out.....
We can't make it through a scrabble game anymore without a FIGHT!
he replied that it usually takes 3-5 days
My Mom, Mimi and I may have to hitch hike home.

Until then my bright spot for today is playing
Tuesday through a Winter Window.

Oh help me out here if you can, hehe

I'm Stuck......and I'm not in Kansas anymore!

We came up to Anchorage on Wednesday
and my parents on Friday had car trouble.
So Phil and my Dad went home with the boys
and my Mom, Mimi and I stayed in Anchorage.
Until they can look at my Moms truck on Monday
and pray it's nothing so I can get the heck out of DODGE!

Were staying with my Sister........and
she's a peach for keeping the three of us!

we got about 8inches of snow on Thanksgiving
so it was beautiful!

We got up early and did a little shopping on
Black Friday and Saturday.
But I'm ready to go home
I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday start too!

I will have to catch up with all of you when I get home!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Phew

Except the tree is not up yet
Maybe this weekend.
We are going up to Anchorage for
Thanksgiving to spend it with my Sister
and her kids.
Along with my parents.
So I'm excited to be apart of Black Friday
can't wait!
Don't forget to wear your elastic pants and
enjoy your day.
See you Saturday!

I tried my hand at a collage!

I was messing around out in the store today
after I had spent the morning at school
gluing construction paper
around 26 milk cartons, Phew!
I took a little time while one of
my customers shopped
in the store coming up with
different collages!
I had so much fun
and before I close I wanted to share
my wreath door display.
This poor door
came off of our first house in Washington
and I had to bring it with to Alaska.
and
My Mom today is making
Hard tack its a Swedish flat bread
I will post pictures of it and a recipe.
when I can get my hands on some.
I wish she lived a little closer.
It's not the holidays without this treat!

Great company and the best thrift find ever!!

My poor Dad got bit by a spider or something
and his whole arm swelled up
so they came up this morning
to go to the Dr. and get some medicine.

Amanda stopped by wearing this
AMAZING
coat she found thrifting with her Mom
Diane from
(pinecone and roses)
I have a whole post planned
about her tomorrow.

Check out Amanda's blog it shows
some great pictures from her trip!

it's amazing
how fab is that!
Are you coveting it TOO!
it looks so designer.

We all know my love of paper napkins
I had to show you a current
picture and
something that I get to add to it.

Look what she brought me
How cute are they and this coveted mug
Christi just don't look!

I had Mimi's little friend over after
school yesterday.
They are so cute and so busy.....
Of course it does not help that I sugared
them up first!

This was my first view of daylight this morning!
It's been cold and I was so use to the 30 degree weather
we had for a while
oh well
winters here!

Updates and We can get a little C. K. too!

I love her closet, the colors, the organization!
My Texas Nest
Apartmentherapy
I love this image!

Yesterday in my mound of mail was this
wonderful catalog.
Cath Kidston USA
everyone probably knew about this but In Alaska
were the last to know!

So exciting

I'm thinking this will be a great Christmas
did you see her paper napkins...

and the oilcloth, projects ,projects!
Now for the update on the lodge selling.
The agent for the client emailed and said with his job
he has to quite often change his schedule
so something had come up and he
had to reschedule but that he was still coming!
so keep on praying!
fingers crossed.

P.s. I loved your mouse stories!

I'm a little nutty around the edges!

I love old house's
the architecture
the details
the trim
the little nooks
and crannies
they offer.
What I don't like is the fact
that it's easier for a mouse to break into one.
I'm petrified of mice, shrews and rats.....any rodent!
The other day I saw a hint of daylight through the front door
on the floor.

So I put my trusty brick on the outside of my door
and my electrical cover on the inside.
Some of Jeremy's friends instead of gently moving my rug
they ripped the door across it.
which wrecked my rug and the weather stripping.
So for the last week I've been a little nutty!
Phil is going to change out our strip today,
I'll sleep tonight!
Do any of you have little fears over crazy things like this?
please don't leave me out here hanging....
as the only nut

I love this row

this house looks unlived in
I think a mouse may live here!

this one is
full of gingerbread details
and that fence!

I could live here forever!

with a few horses...

A treasured Gift and my Lutefisk dinner review!

I received my new Romantic Homes Dec. issue.
It's the best Christmas Magazine of the season so far.

I'm sorry my pictures have a little glare.

check out this kitchen...

Just full of treasures.
I love the detail on this stairway.

and this fireplace.

love the pink plaid blanket.

this cork wreath.

What a great issue, huh!

the best for last
Kazzy made this for me
her blog is one of my
favorite stops!
what a treasure
Mimi keeps propping it up
and trying to color a picture
just like it with her crayons.
thank you
I love it!
The Lutefisk dinner
was fun
I saw alot of people
I knew.
the menu was boiled potato's
corn
Swedish meatballs
salad
lefse
and Lutefisk.
I ate it all
except the lutefisk.
My dad and I skipped it
my Mom devoured it, ooh!
then across from me sat this teenage girl
who had a heaped plate of the stuff!

A thrift,a re-do and a lutefisk dinner!

My living room collage needed a change next to the stove.
This is what I started with
and I just wanted to warm it up for winter.

I tried it this way...

Then this way....

And I ended up liking this, done!

Here is my best find this summer
I found this crazy quilt for $5

My Phil is up in Anchorage installing
cabinets and so my Mom and Dad
came up to sleep with me.
and
Dale and Lois called and invited
me into the Scandinavian
Lutefisk dinner
I think this is more of a dinner dare.
Smelly fish!
should be fun I'll tell you all about it.
Have a great weekend!
