  1. Oh what a lovely post...
I keep meaning to post about them too.
2 summers ago, I was fortunate to visit their house in Sundborn...a magical delightful place I took lots of photo's. It's not far from Falun which is about 2 hours from where we live.
If anyone ever has the opportunity to come to Sweden, this is a definite MUST on your list.
It is stepping back in time to the real Sweden, but as a couple and family, they were far ahead of the times...
    Thank you Heidi
    Your pictures are great.
I have the one entitled Christmas Morning
    LOVE PEACE enJOY

  4. Oh, yes, they're lovely aren't they? - I have a book of them somewhere. I love the top one - and the one you have. Don't know about your frame - depends on your wall colour, etc., I guess. Abby

His characters are so developed and some are downright shockingly funny......you have to read the books....don't watch the movie on Youtube....havta read the books.

  9. They are beautiful ... I have seen some of these images and heard of Carl Larsson. Each picture is so inviting and charming and honest ... look at the little thing getting dressed. So beautiful.

I think I'll look up "The Emmigrants" too ... sounds intriguing.

  10. They are so beautiful. I love the one of the two girls in their bedroom. I actually like them with the white frame. On your blog they are framed with a big white space and they really stand out well. But then I'm a sucker for white frames! You do whatever you love.

  12. There's a book in our library that I'd love to find on ebay. I take it out over and over again - all about the life of the two of them and what they created in their home.

  15. Amazing images, my best friend at school was Swedish & they had all this kind of art in the house. She is amazing, raising her children very Swedish (language, customs, lifestyle) in Sydney, i especially loved their Christmas festival with the candles in their hair, so fascinating. Love Posie

  17. Hi Heidi,

Sorry it took me so long to visit again, but I have taken a bit of a holiday. I wasn't feeling too good over Christmas and needed some time to relax. Now I am feeling much better :-)!

We seem to like the same things. Larsson's paintings are beautiful!

    Enjoy your day!

    Lieve groet, Madelief
